What’s Your Price?

The Damage of Jealousy. (Matthew 26:14-25, NKJV)

Jealousy can be both emotional and physical, often leading to insecurity and lack of self-worth. Jealousy can lead to envy, which can lead to plotting to hurt the other person.

Envy: When you want something someone else has that you don’t have and will do anything you can to get it. Jealousy turning to envy has been inherited from the beginning. (Genesis 4:1-8, NKJV, NCV)

Cain wanted God to accept what he brought instead of what God required. God still requires the first fruits. (Proverbs 3:9-10, NKJV)

Cain allowed jealousy to lead to envy, which caused him to miss out on God’s best for his life.

Don’t allow what someone else does cause you to get jealous, instead forgive quickly, love God passionately, and obey even if you don’t understand or believe it. (Psalm 55:12-14, NCV; Luke 23:34, NKJV)

Betrayers look for the right opportunity. (Matthew 26:16-25, NKJV)

Jesus sees the heart, but for us the heart is deceitfully wicked. (Jeremiah 17:9-10, NKJV) Those closest to you will help or hurt you the most.

The price you receive for betraying someone is never worth the price you will have to pay. Those who betray are looking for immediate, selfish gratification, not long-term contentment, peace, and joy.
