The Promise of God’s Presence
God is present in the temple. (2 Chronicles 6:40-42, NKJV)
Ask God what He wants you to pray for. God rests and dwells in the temple; if you are saved He rests and dwells in you.
God’s anointing. (2 Chronicles 6:42, NKJV)
If you are saved and a Jesus follower, you are one of God’s anointed. (2 Corinthians 1:21, NKJV; Hebrews 1:9, NKJV; 1 John 2:20, NKJV) Anointing sets you apart to be used by God in a special way.
Because you now have God’s presence with you, you have the anointing of gladness and no one can take it away or give it to you like God can. Today, we have the Holy Spirit living inside our temple, teaching and guiding us in all things. (1 Corinthians 6:19, NKJV)
The power and glory of God. (2 Chronicles 7:1-3, NKJV)
When we come into God’s presence, we see His power, goodness, and mercy way more than we see our needs. When we come into God’s presence in worship, our needs and problems look smaller and we begin to see God’s power and control. When God fills our house, we will worship instead of worry. Worship is seeing how big, powerful, wonderful, and merciful God is.
The personal presence of God. (John 2:18-20, NKJV)
God wants His presence to be personal. Jesus can do more in 3 days than we can do in 46 years on our own. (Luke 5:4-7, NKJV)
Example: What Jesus did for Simon. (Luke 5:3-7, NKJV)
- Jesus got into his boat.
- Simon heard and believed Jesus.
- Simon obeyed Jesus.
