Start Up Right, You’ll Finish Well

Job was a devoted man. (Job 1:1-5, NKJV, MSG)

Learn to be devoted to God. It’s our love and devotion for God that helps overcome and hate evil. The right devotion gives us something to come back to that gives us courage in spite of our emotions. The more of God’s Word you know, the more of God’s will you know. The more of God’s will you know, the more power you have to start and finish well.

Job was a promoted man.

Real promotion and wealth always come from the Lord. (Job 1:2-3, MSG) The right devotion is what leads to the right promotion. The right promotion will lead you to the right position.

Just because you are devoted and promoted does not mean your children will be. (Job 1:4-5, GW; Ezekiel 22:30, NKJV)

There will come times when children have to be responsible for themselves. Parents need to be praying and standing in the gap. Young people need to become devoted to God.

You can be devoted and promoted and still demoted and attacked. (Job 1:6-12, NKJV)

God puts hedges of protection around us and Satan is still under God’s control. (Proverbs 8:18, NCV) Testing is for the purpose of teaching us to trust God.

Job finished well. (Job 42:12, GW)

Sometimes the greater the devotion, the greater the attack. (2 Timothy 3:12, NKJV) The greater the devotion, the greater the promotion now and hereafter. (John 15:7. NKJV) Greater the devotion, greater the victory you can have over the attacks. (1 John 4:4, NKJV; 2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)

Just like Satan desired to destroy Job and his family, he wants to destroy you and your family. (1 Peter 5:8, NKJV; 1 John 2:14, GW) Devotion over emotions wins the victory over the evil one.
