The Myth of Fatherhood

The Myth: That any father but God can be the perfect father.

While Abraham was used greatly by God and had many great qualities, he was anything but perfect. All men and fathers will sin.(Genesis 12:10, 12-19,CEV; Genesis 20:1-18) Men, be willing to die for your wives, not to let your wife be sacrificed for you. Ladies, love your husbands, but put your faith in God the Father who will never let you down. God is the Hero, He just uses people to accomplish His purpose.(Genesis 12:1-3,CEV)

The reason for God’s blessings.

The reason God blessed Abraham is because God said He would. One of the reasons God blesses us is so we can bless others. Many times, our blessings are limited to how we use what God has given us to bless others. Abram kept receiving blessings because of his relationship with God. Without connection with God, you won’t enjoy what you have. God’s timing is not our timing.(Genesis 16:1-6,NIV)

It’s never too late to connect and obey.(Genesis 22:1-2,NIV)

The most important thing a man can learn to say is “Here I am Lord.” Abraham did not only hear God, but was willing to obey.(Genesis 22:3-13,NIV)
