Wealth without wisdom = waste. (Luke 15:11-24, NIV)
When we allow our journey to take us far from the Father, we begin to believe that possessions and pleasure bring joy. Distance brings destructions.
Wealth without responsibility = ruin.
Wealth is anything of value: Family, finances, time, opportunities, etc. Joy is a by-product of seeking the Father.
Insights for responding to a prodigal:

- Remind them God still loves them.
- Don’t reward bad behavior. What gets rewarded gets repeated.
- Let them hurt enough to want change.
- Don’t walk down the same destructive path.
- They will be held accountable by choice or by circumstance.
- Remember: God loves them more than you do.
- Rejoice if there’s Godly sorrow.
- We’ve all be prodigal.
- Don’t give up – expect change.
You can have everything and still be lost.
This son came from wealth, security, and status. Being near the Father’s house isn’t the same as being near the Father’s heart,
Sin always takes you farther than you planned.

- Sin always promises more than it delivers.
- It took his wealth.
- It stole his dignity.
- It left him empty.
- It left him wandering.
The Father didn’t wait to lecture – he ran to love.
- The Father was watching.
- The Father ran.
- The Father embraced.
- The Father celebrated.
The Father restores what shame took away.

- The son had a speech prepared.
- The Father interrupted with love and celebration.
You are not second-class. You are still God’s child.
