From Hearing to Doing

Don’t just listen; Hear the Word, Believe the Word, and Obey the Word. (James 1:22, NIV; NKJV)

A person is saved through faith, not by works. (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV) While works do not save you, they are evidence to you that you have genuine faith, not fake faith. If someone only listens to the Word but never applies it, never works, or never changes, they need to ask themselves if their faith is genuine faith. (Matthew 7:21, NIV)

The Mirror Reflection: (James 1:23-24, NKJV)

The mirror has no emotions; it simply reflects what it sees, good or bad. God wants us to stop and see the places we need to change and put under the blood of Jesus for forgiveness and transformation. Allow God’s Word to change your life.

The perfect law brings freedom.

The perfect law refers to God’s Word and obeying it brings freedom. God’s Word is not so much a book of rules as it is a book of freedom. (1 John 5:3, NIV)

Blessings through obedience. (James 1:25, NKJV)

    1. Where do you want to be blessed?
    2. Blessings always follow obedience.
    3. Be a doer and do it consistently, and God will bless you.
