Unleashing Hope | How Hopes and Dreams Come True
What is hope? (Romans 5:5, NLT)
Hope is the confident expectation of a positive future in spite of your present circumstances. Your confident expectation – your hope for a positive future – rests on God’s purposes and resources, not yours. Biblical hope is absolute confidence in something you haven’t seen or received yet, but you’re absolutely confident that whatever God has said is going to come to pass.
God wants to see hope in action. (Hebrews 11:1, KJVAAE)
Hopes and dreams come true by applying God’s word and promises to that area over a consistent period of time. Almost every hope and dream you have could be reached if you would apply these 2 things:
- Be teachable over a long period of time. (Proverbs 9:9, NKJV)
- Apply God’s Word. (Isaiah 55:11, NKJV; 1 Samuel 15:29, NLT; Titus 1:2, NLT)
Hope brings joy and peace. (Romans 15:13, KJVAAE)
When you start believing in hope in spite of what things look like, God’s going to bring you through and make something good out of it. If things look like they are lacking, God’s going to meet every need because He said He would. (Philippians 4:19-20, NKJV) When you start to believe in hope, God states that He will bring dead things to life. (Romans 4:17-18, NKJV)
Hope is the answer for discouragement. (Psalms 42:5, NLT)
When we put our faith and hope in anything other than God, it will lead to sadness and discouragement. God is the only one who can fill the greatest need in our life, when we keep trying to fill that need with other things it will lead to discouragement and sadness. God placed a longing for Him in everyone’s heart, then left the choice up to us. (Ecclesiastes 3:11-13, NKJV) Once you learn to put God first in your life, the joy and praise comes back and you will begin to enjoy life like never before. (1 Corinthians 13:13, KJVAAE)
