Spiritual growth is an important part of getting closer to God. Just as a baby learns to crawl then walk or learns to drinks milk then works toward whole food, Christians have spiritual growth steps. When you grow spiritually you make every area of your life better. You can have better relationships, better experiences and a better life.
Are you struggling with your marriage, job, health or life? Remember, spiritual growth is the only guarantee that your life will get better. It can bring peace in the middle of chaos. It can give you purpose wherever you’re at. It can give you the love that you need and desire.
If you want to grow spiritually, you must become disciplined and seek constant growth. It’s the small things done consistently over time that bring success. Start out by doing a short bible study daily. Start off with 5 minutes a day. As you train yourself to do this every day, you can increase your time to 10 or 15 minutes a day.
Those around us can influence us greatly. Find others who also want to grow closer to God. They can encourage you and you can do the same. Those who you spend the most time with are likely who you will become like. You can’t always do this, for example, if you are working or at school. You may not have a choice who you’re around. You can also surround yourself with people by podcasts you listen to and videos you watch. Learn to influence yourself by surrounding yourself with people who make spiritual growth a priority.
Don’t just grow and keep it to yourself. Share with someone else what you are learning. It can be a spouse, significant other, friend, coworker or even on social media. Spiritual growth isn’t about just making your life better, but also those around you.
