Rest, Relax, and Connect with God

Check in on yourself.

Everybody has a different threshold to pain and pressure. Everybody has a threshold that can be broken. The Holy Spirit lives in you and works best when you’re at your best.(1Corinthians 6:19-20,NIV) Healthy people help people and unhealthy people hurt people.(Romans 8:26-27,NKJV) One of the ways we honor God is by taking care of our body, and big part of taking care of our body is rest and relaxation.

The3R’s of recharge.

  • Rest: choose the right kind of rest for you. Rest is not only sleep, but the right kind of sleep. The right kind of sleep is free from tension and anxiety. Sleep and rest should be a time of worship while God does the work.(Psalm 121:3-4,NIV; Isaiah 40:28-29,NCV; Hebrews 4:3,NKJV)
  • Relax: to be at peace, at ease, and free from anxiety.(Psalm 46:10-11,CEV) Come into God’s presence without any agenda.
  • Read: Enjoy the nature God made.
  • Exercise.
  • Hobbies.
  • Gratitude exercises.(1 Thessalonians 5:18,NKJV)
  • Journaling.
  • Breath in and out slowly.
  • Listen to the right kind of music.
  • Repent. (Psalm 32:3-4,NIV; Acts 3:18-19,NIV) Repent from thinking it’s wrong to rest and relax.(Ecclesiastes 3:12-13,NKJV, NCV
