When You Receive the Favor of God
What is the favor of God?(Psalm 90:16-17,NRSV; TEV)
When God takes the ordinary and does the extraordinary. A father shows favor to his children by showing them grace, guidance, protection, and provision. Mary received the favor of God when she believed in God. She activated the favor of God when she obeyed.
Activate the favor of God.(Luke 1:37-38,NKJV)
When you have the favor of God and activate it nothing will be impossible for you because God is with you. When you commit to living according to God’s word, you begin your journey to the favor of God.
When do you get the favor of God?
The favor of God is a lot like the grace of God.(Ephesians 2:8-10,AMP) At salvation, He gets your sins and shortcomings and you get God’s grace and favor. Grace and favor are free. God gives us favor so we can do good works and do it with joy. God has already one ahead of you and prepared a path that leads to the good and favored life.
Reminder of what good works are:(Ephesians 2:10,AMP)
- How do you behave among the unsaved?(1 Peter 2:12,NKJV)
- Do you give your money to further God’s Kingdom?(1 Timothy 6:17-19,NKJV)
- Do you show hospitality and minister to the ministers? Do you help those in distress?(1 Timothy 5:10,NKJV)
- Do you invite people to church and give them resources?(Matthew 5:16,NKJV) Good works of suffering: Are you a great witness while you suffer?(James 1:12,AMP)
- Do you finish the race?(2 Timothy 4:6-8,NKJV; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27,NKJV)
- Do you use your gifts and talents?(Matthew 25:14-30,NKJV)
- How do you submit and support your authorities? (Hebrews 13:17, NKJV)
- When you have the favor of God, it’s not an obligation to do good works, it’s an opportunity.
Blessings of the favor of God received at salvation:
No more condemnation. (Romans 8:1,NKJV;1 John 3:20, NKJV) There’s nothing you can do to be separated from the love of God, nothing! (Romans 8:35-39, NKJV) Because you have God’s favor you can be more than a conqueror in any and all situations and circumstances. When you mess up, confess the sin and get right back into the game of God’s love and forgiveness.(2 Timothy 2:13, NKJV)
