Be Planted
Psalm 92:12-15, NKJV
Seven Insights to be planted in the church and learn to become the church.
- The righteous shall flourish.
- They are going to grow like a palm tree and cedar.
- When you are planted in the house of the Lord, you’re going to flourish.
- Because you’re righteous and planted in the house of the Lord, you’re going to not only bear fruit in your old age, you’re going to stay fresh and flourishing.
- You can stay fresh and even flourish because you get your strength, power, freshness, and flourishing from the Rock.
- The Lord, your Rock, will never get old, tired, or wither.
- It doesn’t say because we come to church we will flourish, it says if we will be planted in the church we will flourish.
What Does It Mean to Flourish?
Flourish – means thriving, growing, prospering, to be a blessing, having spiritual growth. Cedar trees are known for their durability, being pleasant to look at, and also known for their pleasant smell. We’re being compared to flourish like a cedar that’s durable, strong, and lasting.
The palm branch of a palm tree was symbolic of triumph and victory. We’re flourishing, triumphant, and victorious. Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish. (Psalm 92:14, NKJV)
For Those Who Don’t Go to Church or Aren’t Planted in the Church.
Instead of flourishing, life feels like it is withering. (Matthew 21:19, NKJV) Instead of being fruitful, your life is unfruitful and unproductive. (Mark 4:19, NKJV) Instead of being durable and stable, you are fragile and unstable. Instead of being triumphant and victorious, you have defeat and discouragement.
How to be Planted: You always have to change the root if you want to change the fruit.
Prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference. (Matthew 6:10, NKJV; 1 John 5:14-15, NKJV) When something is planted, it starts with a seed. (Mark 4:10-25, NKJV; Romans 14:17, NKJV) Desires greatly determine destiny. Yet, we can change our desires by changing what we take in by the word we receive and how we receive it. (Mark 4:12-19, NKJV)
Wherever we go and whatever we do, we allow our light to shine by doing acts of kindness and service. (Mark 4:20-21, NKJV) The less you give of yourself, the less peace and joy you will have. (Mark 4:22-25, NKJV)
Everyone one of us will be judged by how we used the talent God gave us.
Your talent is your ability, personality, skills, and money. It is what you do with your time, talents, and tithe. You are storing up joy or judgement. What you are doing on a day to day bases will and can predict your future. (Galatians 6:8-10, NKJV)
