Dare to be Happy While Hurting
There are times to be happy while hurting.
Be happy when people make fun of the way you look. (Matthew 5:9-12, TLB; Psalm 139:14-15, NKJV, MSG)
God made, sculpted, and shaped you; anytime you make fun of the way someone looks you’re making fun of God. (1 Corinthians 10:11, NKJV; Romans 15:4, NKJV; 2 Kings 2:23-24, NCV; Romans 12:17-19, NKJV; NCV)
Be happy when people mistreat you. (Acts 5:40-41, CEV)
Happiness in troubled times is a result of knowing you did what was right in the name of Jesus. Grace will give us joy and power to do what God called us to do in spite of the situation or circumstances. (2 Corinthians 9:8, NKJV; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, NKJV)
The right persecution brings the right pleasures.
Jesus can make us happy even after we have done wrong.
(Luke 15:19-24, NKJV; John 8:3-11, NKJV)
Jesus is always faithful even when we are not. God wants us to focus on His faithfulness, not our failures. Our happiness does not depend on situations, circumstances, people, or places but having a right relationship with Jesus.
