Bible Story
John 5:1-9
Healing at the pool
Overview
Patience is the 4th fruit of the spirit & available to all believers who obey Christ.
Jesus stopped at a special pool on His way to Jerusalem the pool was called Bethesda. This pool was special because people believed that sometimes an angel would come and stir up the pool & the first person to get in the water after the stirring would be healed
Jesus met a man that was lame, meaning he couldn’t walk, and he hadn’t been able to walk for 38 years! The man said he had been waiting for a long time, but the problem is he had no one to help him get in the water, so others will always get in the pool before me, so he lays on his old sleeping bag & continues to wait.
Jesus told the man to stand up, roll up your sleeping bag & walk, and the man did!
What if the man would have stopped waiting & just went home? He would have missed Jesus & missed out on this miracle
The man had to be patient to wait all those years for his miracle.
Have you ever prayed & felt like God didn’t hear you or answer? We must remember to be patient & know Gods timing is perfect
