  • What is Mercy?
    • Undeserved forgiveness and unearned kindness.
    • Pardon from the punishment we deserve. (Proverbs 28:13-14, NKJV; TEV)
  • What are Miracles?
    • Unavoidable part of the Christian Faith.
    • Supernatural display of divine power.
    • Events that demonstrate God’s power.
  • The Process of a Miracle. (2 Kings 5:1-11, NKJV)
    • First, you have to have a problem in your life that needs a miracle.
      • If you look at the problem, you will miss the purpose.
      • Miracles usually start in the smallest way by the smallest step of obedience.
    • Second, you have to be willing to listen to those trying to help you.
      • The right person to listen to will always encourage you and counsel you to follow God’s will not your feelings or emotions.
    • Third, you have to be willing to do something about your problem. (Exodus 14:15, NLT)
      • If you don’t move God won’t move.
      • Without God, you cannot; without you God will not.
  • Examples of Mercy and Miracle going hand in hand.
    • A Personal Need. (Matthew 9:27-30, NKJV; Ephesians 1:16-21, NKJV)
      • The man had what looked like an impossible need—he knew he did not deserve it. (Matthew 9:27, NKJV)
      • He believed Jesus could heal him—He obeyed Jesus—Jesus did what He said. (Matthew 9:28, NKJV)
      • He confessed His belief in Jesus—He received what he believed.
    • A Family Need.  (Matthew 17:15, NLT; Matthew 17:16, NKJV; Matthew 17:18, NLT)
      • The man had a family need only a miracle could solve.
      • The man asked Jesus for what he needed not what he deserved. (Matthew 17:15, NLT)
      • He did not give up when Jesus disciples could not help him. (1 Corinthians 2:5, NKJV)
      • They enjoyed God’s Mercy and Miracle! (Matthew 17:18, NLT; Matthew 17:19-21, NKJV; Matthew 20:30-34, NKJV)
