The Power of the Gift | Samson

Example of power: (Judges 13:5, 24-25, NKJV; 1 Corinthians 12:1, AMP; 1 Corinthians 10:11, NCV)

Samson killed a lion with his bare hands. (Judges 14:6, NKJV)

When we are set apart for God and filled with the Spirit of God, there’s no area we cannot have victory in.

He killed 30 enemies. (Judges 14:19, NKJV) He caught 300 foxes. (Judges 15:4, NKJV) He killed Philistines by a great slaughter. (Judges 15:5, NKJV) He killed 1,000 Philistines by jawbone. (Judges 15:14-16, NKJV) He prayed and the water supernaturally came out of the hollow place. (Judges 15:18-19, NKJV) 3 times he broke loose from being bound. (Judges 16:9-14, NKJV) He pulled the door and post from its place and dragged it to the top of the hill. (Judges 16:3, NKJV)

How Samson lost his power. (Judges 14:1-4, NKJV)

One of the reasons he became powerless is because he tried to mix two gods. There is no greater power than the power of God upon us unless we are trying to mix other gods with our God. You can’t have a covenant with the true living God and a covenant with a pagan’s god. (Exodus 20:5, NKJV; Nahum 1:2, TLB) You can be saved and have other gods, but you cannot have the power of God. (2 Corinthians 6:14, NKJV)

Samson told Delilah things he shouldn’t have. (Judges 16:1, NKJV)

He was tempting the True and Loving God by playing with a pagan God. Delilah told the enemy she would find what his secret power was and she was promised 1100 pieces of silver. After 3 times, Delilah convinces Samson to tell her the truth. (Judges 16:15-21, NKJV) It was after Samson’s eyes were gouged out and put into prison that he returned to God and God returned to him. (Matthew 6:22-24, NKJV; Judges 16:22-30, NKJV)
