YES, we ARE living in the End Times!

  • The world was supposed to end on January 1, 2000, otherwise known as Y2K.
  • Then, the world was supposed to end in December 21, 2012.
  • The bible says in Matthew 24 that, “No one knows the time or place except the Father only.”
  • So, if any loony tells you that he knows when it is all going to end, then he is wrong and you can rest in the fact that it won’t be THAT day!

Three signs we living in the last days.  Matthew 24:3-8. Read

First Sign: The Occurrence of Wars, Famines, and Earthquakes

  • In recent years, natural disasters have been getting worse and worse. Floods, fires, famines, and earthquakes are happening more often and they are happening everywhere.
    • Famines: In 2016, India suffered from the worst drought in 40 years leading to over 300 MILLION people without water to drink.
    • War: From 2015 to 2016, there were a series of terrorist attacks in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East that led to countless casualties and countless innocent deaths.
    • Earthquakes: Of the three, I find this one to be the most eye-opening. Now most of us in here are familiar with the earthquake that shook Haiti in 2010, but I am about to reference one that happened just two years before that.
    • How does a believer become cold? What is a cold believer?
    • Through the radio stations, networks, books, gospel tracts, missionary work, and so on, the gospel has been spread more and more widely and preached among all nations finally. Thus, the Christians have already been throughout the world. Even in China, which is ruled by an atheist party, many people have accepted the gospel of the Lord Jesus.
    • But Jesus specifically points out three areas here: famines, wars, and earthquakes.
      • In 2008, an earthquake happened in China that killed 70,000 people and left 18,000 missing.
      • According to scientists, as the crust of the Earth thickens over the years, earthquakes should have been occurring less and less, but earthquakes occur more today than they did 20 years ago.

Second Sign: Cold Believers – Read Matthew 24:9-13

  • A believer becomes cold when he wants the world MORE than he wants Christ.
  • Many professed Christians spend more time chasing the things the world has to offer over devoting time to be with Christ- creating busy Christians over devoted followers.
  • One of my favorite sayings is this: If the Devil can’t make you bad, then he will make you busy.
  • The world will throw everything at you to make you too busy: our jobs, our bosses, our kids, school, etc.
    • Just because it demands your attention doesn’t mean that it deserves your attention.
  • One of my favorite verses about this is in Matthew 6:24 where it says, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
  • Now for me, I’m broke. I don’t have a lot of money. So, I have to read this a little different.
    • “You can’t serve God and _________.”
    • For me, I have to fill in that blank. Tonight, you have to fill that blank in too. I can’t serve God and (money, addiction, job, sports, school, sin).
    • A house divided amongst itself will not stand. If your faith is split amongst itself, then it will not stand either.
    • There is no room for part-time Christians in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Third Sign: The Advancement of the GospelRead Matthew 24:14

The gospel is spreading faster than ever before, which means the end is coming.
