Jesus calms the storm

Overview

Peace is the 3^rd fruit of the spirit & available to all believers who obey Christ.

Jesus wanted his disciples to travel across the water to the other side with him. This seems like a simple task, but a storm struck and they were in a small fishing boat.

The disciples were scared, Jesus was sleeping. They did not have peace, but had fear.

Jesus quieted the storm then asked his disciples why they were afraid & if they had no faith.

Jesus wanted his disciples to find their peace in Him.

True peace can only be found through Christ.

Get the Kids Involved

Talk about how we can’t find peace on our own. Sometimes people try to declutter their lives/ organize it, which may help, but without God we won’t have true peace  

Discuss what peace looks like in our lives.

Talk about how Jesus gave the disciples peace in the storm and how he was trying to teach them that they couldn’t have peace without Him and without having faith in Him.

Set up a space where you can go to find peace and be with God through prayer and music.

Spend more time with God.

Talk about how we have the fruit of the spirit if we have been saved and asked Jesus to live in our hearts, if we haven’t been saved then let’s talk about the steps we need to take to get there
