How to Fight with God and Win
Some of your battles must be fought alone. (Genesis 32:24-31, NKJV)
There will be burdens that you will have to allow your children to bear on their own. (Galatians 6:5, ESV) Don’t remove the hurt too soon; It’s the hurt that drives us to get help. (Luke 15:14-19, NCV) Jacob had a wrestling match with God; this is where most people give up while the truth is this point is where the blessings and victories are won. Push past your pain to God’s plan.
Wresting with God can be painful.
The pain is always worth it. (Genesis 32:24-25, NKJV) God wanted Jacob to be sure he was ready to change. Many times, it is very painful to change when you have lived a life that needed change but you didn’t.
Let the past pain remind you of God’s planned future. (Genesis 32:25-28, NKJV; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NKJV)
Pain can have a purpose. Pain can be wasted. Pain, with a purpose, is always worth the pain. Pain wasted only worsens the pain.
