Mark 15:33-47, NKJV; John 1:4-5, NCV
Three Powerful Insights about God forsaking Jesus.
God forsaking Jesus proves we will never be forsaken or forgotten. (Hebrews 13:5-6, NKJV) Because God was willing to forsake Jesus, we can now claim God’s promises, He will never forsake us.
God forsaking Jesus proves we have God’s favor. (Proverbs 8:35, NKJV)
The only way we can go to god is through what Jesus did on the cross; the only way we find favor with God is going through Jesus. (John 14:6, NKJV)
God forsaking Jesus proves we have God as our Father now! (John 20:17, NKJV)
One of the first message Jesus wanted us to know upon coming out of the grave is “NOW, NOW My Father is your Father, My God is now your God.”
Our Father: Loves us, cares for us, and provides for us.
Our God: All powerful, Raised Jesus from the dead, defeated the devil.
God is our Father and our God why should we fear? (Hebrews 13:5-6, NKJV)
The moment Jesus breathed His last breath the veil was torn from top to bottom. God granted us direct access and relationship with Him.
