God is preparing you to go from where you are to where you’re called. (Matthew 26:36-39)
When Jesus was.
- On a Thursday night prior to die a death that did not belong to Him.
- He often withdrew to the Garden of Gethsemane to unpack, spend time with, teach, and train the disciples.
Who is Jesus looking for?
- He was looking for those who were willing to get their hands dirty, who would get up early and stay up late, and do whatever it took to build the kingdom.
- Regular men became the foundation of what is not he church.
- Every person has a name and every name matters to God.
Jesus’ Critical Moment (Luke 2)
- In announcing the birth of His Son, God was demonstrating His love for every one of us, no matter who we are. (1 John 3:1)
Jesus’ Ministry Moment
- This is the call of every believer to come away from the surface things and step into Gethsemane.
- Gethsemane is the place of process before ELEVATION—where God crushes our flesh and removes any and all your will in exchange for His.
- At Gethsemane Jesus was fully God and fully man—in this moment He had the battle that we all have to battle—the battle between flesh and spirit, between our will and the will of our Heavenly Father.
- At some point, we are all going to need somebody—there are no successful Christian islands— (JC’s Core Value: “You Can’t Do Life Alone”)
- We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
- God will always surround you with people who are called to remind you of your ultimate destination.
- Jesus said ‘Sit here while I go and pray’—that is the key to supernatural faith—to go and pray means you’re trusting the Father that wherever you’re walking you’re ending up in the right location.
- He said, “I’d rather not do this, nevertheless not my will Your will be done.
- Jesus went from Here to There for you and me; We can raise our hand and praise His Name because if He had walked away from that assignment you and I would have no hope!
- This is the essence of faith that God allowed His Son (His Sure Thing) to die for a whole lot of just in cases.
