What Happens When You Have Faith

Romans 1:17, NKJV; Hebrews 11:6, Webster’s Bible

  • What is Faith?

    • It is not a desire.
    • It is not pretending to believe a lie.
    • It is not a feeling.
    • It is not a bargaining with God.
    • Hebrews 11:1-2, NKJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
    • Faith in action = Impossible treasure in Heaven.
    • Right faith + Right Promise = Right Results!
    • Faith causes the impossible to become possible –it only takes a little faith to do great things! (Matthew 17:20, NKJV)
    • Faith has to include seeing things from God’s Point of View. (Ephesians 1:8, NIV, AMP)

  • What happens when we see with eyes of fear? Instead of faith:

    • We exaggerate our difficulties. (Numbers 13:27-28, NKJV)
      • What has God promised in His Word, but you are now too fearful to go do what God said.
      • We miss the miracles, blessings, and power of God.
      • The difference between success and failure is: Simply commitment over emotions—courage over emotions and fear.
      • Being courageous is not the absence of fear, but it is pushing through in the midst of fear.
      • A Christian who refuses to move until the fear is gone will never move.
      • The favor of God often comes after we have overcome the fear of failure.
      • Fear—is the false perception that God is not going to take care of you—or give us what we need.
    • Three simple steps for our church family to be more successful in all areas of our life:
      • Courage—Comes from having the mind of God in a matter.
      • Persistence—Pushing through not giving up in the midst of fear, failure, and fatigue.
      • Integrity—Simply if you say you’re going to do something do it—If you ask someone to do something you expect them to do it.
    • We underestimate our abilities. (Numbers 13:31-32, NKJV)
      • We will never be successful if we keep trying to please people more than God.
    • We get discouraged. (Numbers 13:33, NKJV)
    • We start to complain about our lives. (Numbers 14:1, NKJV)
      • When you start blaming others for the way you feel and act—you are saying they are in control of your life—the truth is the only thing we can control is ourselves!
    • We eventually give up and blame God. (Numbers 14:3, NKJV)
  • What happens when we see with eyes of faith?

    • Faith shrinks my problems. (Genesis 18:14, NKJV; Luke 1:37, NKJV)
    • Faith opens the door for a miracle. (Mark 11:22-24, NKJV; Matthew 13;58, NKJV)
    • Faith moves God to act on my behalf. (Matthew 9:29, NKJV)
    • Faith unlocks all the promises of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20, NKJV)
    • Faith turns God-given dreams into reality. (Ephesians 3:20, NKJV)
    • Faith gives us the power to hold on in tough times. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, NKJV)
    • John 3:16, NKJV
